Phrase Description Explanation
AOL users A way for AOL users to speed up their connection Connecting through AOL can slow down your connection because AOL routes the material on the pages you are receiving through its server before sending it on to you. Using a separate browser like IE 5.5 can speed up your connection by eliminating this extra step. Be careful that AOL doesn't break your connection by 'timing you out', however.
Browser Type Which browsers work, and what are the known problems? Currently the training modules work well on a PC as well as on a MAC platform. The training is optimized for Internet Explorer 5.5 for both the PC and the Mac. The training works acceptably on Netscape 4.x on a PC, although there are formatting problems. The training works in Netscape 6.x except for the drag-and-drop exercises, which this version of Netscape does not support. Known problem #1 and the solution: Some users whose monitor display at 800 x 600 resolution may have a problem because the training window incorrectly positions itself partway down the screen. This means that you will not be able to scroll to the bottom of some pages. The solution is to select the bar at the top of the window and drag it to the top of your monitor. Known problem #2 and the solution: Mac users will find that a scroll bar may not appear on some pages even though you need it. The solution is to press the or button. The scroll bar will then appear. Known problem #3 and the solution: PC users of Netscape 6.x will not be able to do the drag-and-drop exercises. The only solution is for users of Netscape 6.x to switch to another browser (either Internet Explorer or Netscape 4.7x) when they encounter these exercises. There are three scattered throughout the training. Known problem #4 and the solution: Mac users who use Netscape as their browser will find that they cannot access the training modules. The solution, at least at this time, is to switch to Internet Explorer.
CEU's Can you get CEU's for completion of this training? CEU’s are certainly a possibility. We are in the process of certifying the amount of CEU credit can be provided for Oklahoma users. We can provide those of you who work in other states with this information. You can then seek CEU’s according to your own state's licensing regulations. If we can be helpful to you on this, please contact us
FAQ's Frequently Asked Questions. What are they? Will they be available? FAQ's are printed lists of frequently asked questions. They make it easier for users to get their questions answered. Users are encouraged to print them out and read them. This list of help topics is very similar to a FAQ. FAQ’s will be available as soon as we have accumulated sufficient user questions that aren't covered in our current help file.
Feedback How to give us feedback You can give us feedback in one of two ways. First, you can click on the link "How to contact us" on the left side of the ROM-site screen to send e-mail to the site manager. Your default e-mail application will come up when you do this. Use this method when what your communication warrants immediate attention. Also, note that your default e-mail application may not be the application you regularly use. Alternately you can copy and paste the e-mail address in the form that comes up into your own e-mail application. Second, you can use feedback/comments for making a suggestion for improving the site or for any other communication that does not require our immediate attention. You can ask for a response by checking the appropriate form on the box. We appreciate hearing from you.
