| Help Overview |
How "Help" is organized; how to print out a copy. |
This help file has information on topics that we think will be helpful to users. The number of topics has purposefully been kept short to help access the information you might need. A pdf file with this information can be downloaded and printed out. Click on the link provided on the Help page. |
| Links |
Useful links - places to find them, and what happens when you access a site from within a training module. |
Links that are useful to social work supervisors, managers, and administrators are scattered throughout the training modules. In addition, there is a Links page which has the links to all sites referenced in the training as well as sites like the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare. This page can be found under the category of Resources: Links on the left side of the ROM site.
When you access a web site by using a link within a training module the site will appear in your browser in a new window. As you explore this site and click on other links even more windows may be opened. The training module window has not been closed; it is hidden behind the new window(s). To return to the training site either select it from your toolbar or close the window(s) that were just open. As you close them the training module window will appear.
Other sites may have their own privacy policies. This site’s privacy policy only applies while on this site. |
| Logging Off |
Methods of logging off |
You can log off the training in several ways.
You can click on Logoff, which is on the list of links at the top of each training page. Doing this will bring up the ROM site; it will also allow you to return to the page where you left off when you return to continue the training.
A less preferred method is to click on the button in the upper right-hand corner of the window. This will also close the training window and return you to the ROM site. You will also be returned to the same module when you revisit the training; however, you may not be returned to the same page. |
| Logging On |
How to log on; continuing training from where logged off |
Users log on by clicking the link provided in the upper left hand corner of the ROM site. Users can continue taking the training from where they left off by clicking on the link "where I left off" located towards the top-center of each page of the ROM site.
Now that Logging on is required to take the training or to use the message board. Users must register with the site before they can log on. |
| MACs |
Using a MAC rather than a PC to access this training |
Mac users will find that the training works quite well if you use Internet Explorer, but not Netscape. Netscape does not access the training modules.
There is one known problem for Mac users. The scroll bar does not appear on some pages that require it. The solution is to press the or key. The scroll bar will then appear.
